We’re thrilled that you and your family are considering St. Mary Help of Christians School as the possible home for your child’s education. We have been a parish school for 125 years and some of our students have had both their parents and their grandparents attend St. Mary Help of Christians School. If you have any questions, take a moment to read our FAQs, which cover the questions we get asked the most. If you find you still have more questions, give us a call. We would love to help you find the answers.

  • Does our family have to be Catholic to attend St. Mary Help of Christians School?

    No! We welcome non-Catholic families. According to the teachings of the Catholic Church, “the Catholic school’s proper function is to create a special atmosphere animated by the Gospel spirit of freedom and charity.” It is this embedded Gospel spirit that exposes children to moral values in the classroom every day.

  • What is your average class size?

    Our average class size is 14 students. We have one classroom of each grade.

  • Is busing available for St. Mary Help of Christians School students?

    Busing is provided through the St. Cloud School District.

  • Do you have special services for students who need extra help?

    Yes. Students can receive services through the St. Cloud School District.  We also have a reading specialist at St. Mary Help of Christians.

  • Does St. Mary Help of Christians School have before and after school care programs?

    Our before care program begins at 7 am and after school care runs until 5:30 p.m. for students in PreK-5th grade. 

  • Are there any speciality classes?

    We currently offer physical education, music, Spanish, art, and technology integration for all of our students.

  • What is the school safety plan?

    Your child’s safety is our priority. Our school building is locked 24 hours a day. We have plans in place in case of a fire, tornado, and threats that would come internally or externally.

  • How does tuition work?

    St. Mary Help of Christians does not turn anyone away due to financial concerns. Please contact us to discuss scholarship options.

  • What is expected of parents in regards to fundraising?

    We have fundraisers each year to support operations and enrich education at St. Mary Help of Christians School.

  • Does St. Mary Help of Christians School offer breakfast & lunch?

    Yes, we offer FREE breakfast and lunch.

  • Can we enroll our child in the middle of a school year?

    Yes, as long as classes aren’t at full capacity. We ask that you call the school office to set up a meeting with the principal prior to registering.

  • Do St. Mary Help of Christians School students wear uniforms?

    No.

  • Do you follow the calendar of local area school districts?

    We use a hybrid calendar created from the St. Cloud School District and Catholic Community Schools.

  • Does St. Mary Help of Christians School follow the curriculum standards required by the State of Minnesota?

    Yes. We use the Minnesota standards as guidelines as a basis for our curriculum.
